Polite Stranger: Our target for this year’s purge is hiding in your home. You have one hour to find him and give him to us, or we’ll kill all of you.

About 10 weeks until Rue Morgue’s Festival of Fear!
This year will be my third attending Fan Expo/Festival of Fear. This event made me decide on becoming an event planner.
So far I’m excited for the guests, but not as excited as the past two years.
2011 - Robert Englund, Elvira, John Waters and Malcolm McDowell. Amazing, loved it.
2012 - John Carpenter, Norman Reedus, Matthew Gray Gubler, Tony Todd, Chris Sarandon, Rose McGowan and Nelsan Ellis . Denis O’Hare cancelling sucked. Panels were not as good as the year before. But I loved the poster panel
2013 - Norman Reedus, Joe Dante, Don Coscarelli, Jeffrey Combs and Michael Rooker.
I’m looking forward to the Festival for sure, but I just feel like things are missing. They added sports to Fan Expo, but they’ve been getting pretty good celebrities outside the Horror Genre. Hopefully they will save the best for last.
Some celebrities I’d love to see at the Festival would be
I know I’d pay again to see anyone I did in 2011-2012 for sure. It would be great to bring them all back.
And it’s not always about the celebrities. I wish they had more opportunities for people to interact and be engaged. I know I was stressed about the panels last year, but I’d love to see more workshops, more about art and music. Whereas I had to leave one panel in 2012 because the authors were discussing that vampires are sexier than werewolves. I didn’t want that shit. I love the screenings, and just talking about horror movie posters, art, film whatever. but not ‘sexy monster’ crap. I know as an event planner, not all things are possible, but I think the festival needs a little more TLC
I hope that soon, once I’m graduated in September as an event planner, I can get on board on how to make the Festival my dream come true.
So for those attending Fan Expo this year, what are you excited for? Who is your dream celebrity guest?
Wicked Finds Wednesday coming back soon! :)
